Abstract

Introduction: Raises the challenge of technical training in the face of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, pointing out the gap between theoretical mastery and practical and transversal skills in students of Technical Baccalaureate in Automotive Electromechanics. Materials and methods: The research proposed the design of a gamified pedagogical strategy to address this problem. Regarding materials and methods, a mixed approach with an explanatory sequential design was used at the Pacayacu Educational Unit, using a sample of 30 students and 3 teachers. Performance tests (pre-test/post-test), rubrics, participant observation and interviews were applied. Results: A significant gap between theory and practice was confirmed, as well as a low development of transversal competencies. The main result was the design of the "Escudería de Campeones" strategy, validated by expert judgment with 94% acceptance, highlighting its high motivational potential and curricular relevance. Discussion: These findings are based on the Theory of Self-Determination and Experiential Learning, explaining how the strategy satisfied the needs of autonomy, competence and social relationship, closing the gap between knowledge and application. Conclusions: It is concluded that gamification, understood as a rigorous instructional design framework and not as a mere recreational addition, is an effective way to revitalize technical training, promoting active, collaborative and meaningful learning that comprehensively develops future technicians.
