Media convergence in the teaching of language and literature for developmental learning

Introduction: Innovation and creativity are paramount in the global education system. It is currently considered vitally important to transform the classroom into a place where students feel they are the protagonists of that space. Based on this premise, this research was conducted based on media convergence in the teaching of language and literature, with the aim of demonstrating how the integration of diverse teaching media and media platforms can enhance developmental learning. Materials and methods: The research was conducted using a mixed approach, through surveys and interviews with students and teachers, as well as classroom observations implementing multimedia resources and digital tools. Results: The main results revealed that students showed a notable increase in their interest in studying literary works and a significant improvement in language skills. Discussion: Designing technological media for classrooms and independent study developed students' critical and creative thinking, confirming that media convergence can transform traditional teaching into a new technological environment, effectively developing enriching experiences such as creating podcasts, posters, concept maps, multimedia, and multimodal reading. Conclusions: It was evident that the integration of different digital media into pedagogical practices fosters a more participatory, creative, and critical teaching process, contributing to students' holistic development.
