Abstract

The study of the history of education in Cuba has been an issue addressed by different researchers is of great importance to understand the profound transformations in this sector have been implemented. No less important are the contributions of teachers in different historical contexts, they allowed the educational development of their territories and thus the entrenchment of values and indigenous traditions that today identify the culture of their peoples. In accordance with previously expressed the author refers to preclear Baracoa's teachers who have been recognized as famous sons or personalities for their selfless contributions to the educational development and the formation of an identity culture with emphasis on the period since the nineteenth century until the triumph of the Revolution. The interview family members, educators and the general population as well as reviewing documents were unavoidable sources for the results of this research.
