The Kindergarten and the Pre-elementary Grade in Santiago de Cuba (1902-1959)

The present research will allow the deepening in the historic importance of Kindergarten, home schools and the pre-elementary grade in the Neocolonial Republic (1902-1959) to the development of preschool education in this period. At the same time, the research will allow the study of fundamental trends and pedagogical conceptions related to preschool education, teaching, its main goals and the means that were used in each of these institutions, the social function that was developed in this historical moment when they had syllabus and plans for the formation of the teaching staff.
