Introduction: Clinical measurement of blood pressure is a simple, low-cost and useful procedure, both for the diagnosis of arterial hypertension and for the monitoring of hypertensive patients. That is why it is of great relevance for students of Medical Sciences to learn how to make a correct measurement of it. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of an educational intervention on requirements for measuring blood pressure in students of Medical Sciences in the 2022-2023 school year. Materials and methods: A quasi-experimental study of educational intervention was carried out at the Municipal Teaching Polyclinic where the sample was represented by 76 fourth and fifth year students, respectively, who were doing work-based education in that health area. The intervention was carried out in three stages: diagnosis, intervention and evaluation. Results: Before carrying out the intervention, most of the students were evaluated as poor and fair; After the educational intervention was applied, the rating of excellent and good, respectively, was achieved in more than 50%. Discussion: These results coincide with those of Roméu Escobar and collaborators who concluded that the students evaluated have deficiencies in learning essential aspects of arterial hypertension. Conclusions: It was shown that before the educational intervention, knowledge about the requirements for measuring blood pressure was very limited; Subsequently, it was possible to significantly modify these, which contributes to adequate professional performance in Medical Sciences students.
