Socratic Method as initiation in early childhood education for the intellectual development of the child

The active techniques and their relationship with the intellectual development of children is a very important factor in the teaching-learning process, from this perspective the present study has the purpose of showing the results of the use of the Socratic method in the initial education classrooms of the Machala canton. The methodological strategy was systematized through the use of methods: scientific observation, hermeneutics and statistics. The data was collected through: observation guide and in-depth interview with teachers. We counted on the collaboration of 5 educational centers selected for the possibilities offered for the study; the sample consisted of 15 teachers and the observation of the academic activities developed by the children of 9 classrooms, selected at random.
