Abstract

To achieve quality teaching and learning it is impossible to do without the means of teaching. However, it is observed on the part of the professor’s laziness in their use. This study aims to characterize its use in the Social Studies classes of the Republic of Peru, highlighting its peculiarities and functions, in order to contribute through the socialization of results to alleviate this failure. The methodological strategy responds to the quantitative-qualitative paradigm, which is systematized mainly through the hermeneutical method, scientific and statistical observation. Among the main results it is observed that: their employment is insufficient; are not conceived and planned as a system based on the specific characteristics of the content under study; the interrelationships with the rest of the components of the teaching-learning process are not taken into account.
