Strategy for improving the use of GeoGebra in the fourth grade of the Educational Unit “September 20”

Introduction: Improving the teaching and learning of mathematics and the use of dynamic software such as GeoGebra are revealed as a necessity in the fourth grade of the "20 de septiembre" educational unit, since the quantitative and qualitative results in learning are not as desired. Materials and methods: In this sense, a research was developed that went through three general stages: diagnosis, strategy modeling and validation, in which various methods, techniques and instruments were applied, with an appropriate sample of students and teachers. Results: For the diagnosis and comprehensive evaluation of student learning, a data record was prepared, which considers techniques and instruments for obtaining information from oral, visual and written sources. Discussion: A strategy for improving the use of GeoGebra in fourth grade is presented, considering theoretical and practical contributions from official documents of the Ministry of Education of Ecuador and from different authors, to which innovations were made regarding the didactic integration of contents and the use of GeoGebra. Conclusions: Its impact on student learning is evident, and the opinions issued by teachers with sufficient training and experience in the grade level support its usefulness.
