The Martí's ideology contribution the prevention of addictions

Abstract

Introduction: Contemporary social phenomena are emerging that are of concern to researchers, political scientists, educators, and social agents and agencies. These phenomena are manifested in: addictions, migration, drugs, smoking, etc.; an important aspect that reveals the need to contextualize Martí's ideas. Therefore, the objective is to systematize Martí's ideas for the prevention of addictions. Materials and methods: Scientific methods such as historical-logical, analysis-synthesis, observation, interviews, and documentary review were used for the development of the research. Results: The systematization of the potential of Martí's ideals for the prevention of addictions in social contexts constitutes the most important result achieved. Discussion: Educational work with young people must emphasize the preventive function regarding the drastic consequences of addictive substance use. This must be done through scientific and academic approaches, through institutionalized education. At the same time, they must be taught mathematics for life. They must learn that to preserve life and do so with dignity, they must say "NO" to drugs, fostering a culture of rejection. Conclusions: The research presented in this article has facilitated the systematization and utilization of the potential of Martí's ideals to address addiction prevention within a socio-educational context that radiates toward the training of new generations, successfully transforming their social behavior in a conscious manner. This constitutes the most important result achieved.
