Abstract

The collaboration between school and family in General Basic Education has a significant relevance as it directly influences the integral development of students. The objective of this article is the design of a guide of family orientation activities to strengthen the educational work of seventh grade students. A study of a mixed nature was implemented, with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The sample was deliberately composed of 19 students, 19 parents or guardians, and 4 teachers linked to the seventh year at the El Angel Educational Unit. Data were obtained through surveys directed to parents and students, interviews with teachers and experts in family counseling, and analysis of the students' academic results in tests and evaluations. The findings of this research reveal the leading role of family guidance in the formative process of students, exerting a positive impact on discipline, behavior in the school environment and academic performance. The methodological guide with the proposed activities received positive evaluations from the experts, who underlined its relevance and effectiveness. However, challenges in communication between school and family were noted, suggesting the imperative need to strengthen these ties. In summary, this article emphasizes the preponderance of school-family collaboration in General Basic Education, providing a pragmatic approach to improve the educational work and development of seventh grade students.
