Abstract

This article emphasizes the role of civic dialogue and the problematization of sociopolitical activism in citizen training of university students from the sociopolitical dimension and José Martí and Fidel Castro’s ideas are presented as essential reference for the understanding of this process. The condition of active manager of socio-transformer alternatives is considered as a quality that distinguishes the student's citizenship in higher education. The result of the research is the proposal of a method for citizen training that has been corroborated in the educational practice at Universidad de Oriente.
