Logical mathematical thinking in the formation of teachers of Basic Education at the University of Machala Ecuador

Logical-mathematical thinking plays a preponderant role because without it physical and logical knowledge could not be incorporated or assimilated. This study focuses on the determination and characterization of historical trends about the teaching of mathematics and its impact on the development of mathematical logical thinking in the training of teachers of Basic Education at the University of Machala Ecuador. It is described how a set of elements inherent in mathematical methods, objectives and mathematical contents in teacher training has developed during the curricular development of mathematics. Finally, the main trends in the development of the learning and teaching process of this discipline are determined.
