Abstract

Introduction: The aim of this research is to develop an effective methodological guide that allows the coherent and transversal integration of environmental education in the initial training of technical bachelors in sales and tourist information. It is based on Kolb's Theory of Experiential Learning, Senge's Theory of Sustainable Development and the Theory of Education for Global Citizenship. Materials and methods: The target population of this study is composed of teachers, students and tourism professionals, with a sample of 25 people. To collect data, interviews and questionnaires will be conducted in focus groups. The research will follow a methodological route in three phases: diagnosis of the current situation, development of the methodological guide and validation of this through a mixed approach. Results: The integration of environmental education in the training of technical bachelors in sales and tourist information is essential to prepare future professionals in the sector with the necessary skills to contribute to sustainable tourism. The implementation of diverse teaching strategies that combine theory with practice will allow students to develop a solid foundation of environmental knowledge, skills and attitudes. This will enable them to perform in a responsible and committed manner with regard to preserving the environment, providing innovative solutions to the environmental challenges of the tourism sector. Discussion: The inclusion of methods such as project-based learning, case studies, field trips, use of audiovisual and technological resources, and awareness-raising and volunteering activities in the educational curriculum enriches the students' educational experience. Conclusions: These strategies encourage active and meaningful learning, which not only reinforces theoretical understanding, but also promotes the practical application of environmental concepts in real contexts.
