Abstract

Introduction: The development of a society is linked to the creation of science, enabling the well-being of man through the development of science and technology. Hence, the teaching of physics is of vital importance, since it allows the formation, in the individual, of a vision of the world. Therefore, it is necessary to provide the student with the necessary tools to cover the deficiencies regarding Physics that they bring from previous educational levels. The objective of this study is to show the redesign of the subject Introduction to Physics of the preparatory course of the Bachelor's degree in Physics and the results of its application. Materials and methods: Within the methods and techniques used, a survey was carried out on the group of students who began the preparatory course "Introduction to Physics" in 2023. It was made up of 15 students, aged between 18 and 19 years of age. questions to find out their evaluations regarding the preparatory course in the first two weeks of the 2023 academic year. Results: The design and dynamics applied in the subject "Introduction to Physics" allows changing the students' preconceptions and work methods, making them feel like "discoverers." ", allows them to more fully understand the new concepts and the need for generalization of others, since it has a methodological character, which allows the subject, units and teaching strategies for classes to be organized based on the Physics method. Discussion: The contents of physics must correspond to the expectations of the students. They have to be useful and practical, resolving, if not everyday situations, at least those in their immediate environment. They have to be intelligible, in such a way that continuous use favors the critical and analytical, reflective and active, creative and innovative spirit. Conclusions: The introductory course allows students to acquire an image of what progress entails in the construction of models, create a more adequate image of what scientific advance means and appreciate that, beyond the experimental results, in the development of Physics there are other elements.
