Abstract

The education of future foreign languages teachers has got attuned with the changes of social dynamics and the new theoretical paradigms in its historical development. Communicative competence has played a predominant role in this sense, however, as the time goes by, other elements beyond effective communication, have contributed to the training of a more integral professional and of its professional competence. This work presents the historical characterization of the process of the professional competence training for these pre-service teachers.
