Abstract

Introduction: The Moodle platform is one of the most used in the teaching-learning process, and it was a boom with the COVID-19 pandemic situation, as an alternative to follow up with the educational processes in many Establishments, however not all teachers were prepared to face this challenge. This project aims to develop methodological guidelines to promote teacher training for the use of the Moodle platform in the teaching-learning process at the Unidad Educativa Pedro Vicente Maldonado. Materials and methods: The research had a descriptive nature, with a mixed approach, where the quantitative and qualitative were integrated in the analysis of the instruments applied in the diagnosis and validation of the proposal. We worked with all the teachers (12), a director, and 14 of the students. Results: The results of the diagnosis carried out at the Unidad Educativa Pedro Vicente Maldonado, allowed us to confirm that even when there is adequate technological availability, the resources were rarely used. Because the teachers didn’t have the necessary training. Discussion: The proposed methodological guidelines monitor the goals of the teacher training process and condition the different ways for its development, based on the real condition of their needs, potentialities and expectations. To confirm, the criteria of the receiving users were applied, who recognize that the guidelines favor the design of different activities in the educational institution to satisfy their needs. Conclusions: The proposed methodological guidelines promote the use of technological resources and in particular the Moodle platform in the teaching-learning process by guiding the self-education and training actions of teachers. This allows them to transform their ways of acting in relation to the use of this platform.
