The librarian in the process of managing the information of ancient documents, sustained in the Technologies of the Information and the Communications

Abstract

The process of information management has always been the central issue of the librarian profession, to undertake it in a way that is adequate to support the research and learning processes of the users. The same must be immersed in a variable environment given the new model of study of Higher Education. Faced with this situation, the library of Universidad de Oriente is adapting its model to be an active entity in this new framework and promote its role in the educational field. The insufficient management and handling of the information of old documents limit exponentiation, through the Information and Communication Technologies, the development of the overall general culture of researchers, which constitutes the problem of research.
