Abstract

ICT tools must be used in the language teaching and learning process of a foreign language so as to assess these skills. These tools are becoming more and more common in people’s everyday lives and in language teaching and learning. When learning a foreign language, their main advantage seems to be the reduction of the level of stress caused by having to take oral exams before a teacher or a panel. Nevertheless, one of the main arguments against their use in assessment is that you cannot be certain that the students taking these tests are actually the ones that should be doing them. However, mechanisms to solve this problem are already being sought. These kinds of tools, particularly eportfolios, seem to be suitable for summative assessment.
