Abstract

Motivation can be influenced by internal and external factors, collaborative work has several characteristics that make it a valid strategy when it comes to motivating the student for meaningful learning; Under this premise, we sought to know what this influence was, in a rural institution of the Ecuadorian public system, this through a correlational study and the use of tools such as interviews, surveys, and other instruments; An initial and final measurement of 5 aspects was carried out, academic average, attendance percentage, active participation in the classroom, competencies achieved, and participation in extracurricular activities, which showed that there are aspects of student motivation that can be directly influenced, with the use of collaborative work, increasing a significant percentage in almost all aspects of the study, being the aspect of academic performance, the one where a marked influence could not be determined; Therefore, it is concluded that although there is an influence on motivation with the use of this strategy, this does not mean an improvement in all aspects of school life analyzed, understanding that the most visible aspect, the academic average, is due to several factors. factors in addition to the technique used and motivation.
