Introduction: Public policies are instruments to guarantee the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. They play a role in the protection of our natural resources and maintaining ecological balance. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the impact of environmental conservation initiatives and policies in Ucayali. Materials and methods: The methodology applied was descriptive and quantitative. A 12-item questionnaire was applied to 109 collaborators, including politicians, civil society, and biodiversity specialists. The reliability of the instrument was high (0.871). In addition, academic documentation from sources such as Scopus, Scielo, among other scientific articles published between 2018 and 2023 in English and Spanish was exhaustively analyzed, providing a relevant academic base. Results: The descriptive analysis carried out using SPSS shows that, in the Ucayali region, biodiversity conservation is rated as fair in 73.39%, as good in 22.94%, and as poor in 3.67%. Despite progress, there are still key areas for improving conservation strategies in Ucayali. Discussion: The moderate effectiveness of current measures underscores the need to review and strengthen initiatives, integrating holistic and sustainable approaches that align local needs with long-term conservation goals. Conclusions: These results indicate a generally positive, albeit moderate, perception of conservation initiatives in Ucayali. At the same time, the variability in scores highlights the need to address and improve specific aspects of conservation policies to achieve greater effectiveness and overall satisfaction.
