Participation of women and influence on social development in the Juan Montalvo commune of the Santa Elena canton

Abstract

Introduction: This work investigates the participation of women and their influence on the development of the Juan Montalvo Commune, Santa Elena canton in Ecuador. Materials and methods: The methodology used in the investigation was of a mixed nature, the technique used was observation, survey and structured interview, the surveys were applied to a total of 87 women members associated with the commune, information that was then analyzed, finally, it is recommended to train women in leadership issues, as well as create proposals that help encourage women's participation. Results: It allows theoretically establishing the different categories of analysis in correspondence to the object of study, in order to define the factors that limit the participation and involvement of women in organizational development. Discussion: The lack of understanding of the constitutional norms on women's rights is an obstacle that prevents women from participating in the true exercise of their rights, if they were considered in the community, the woman would intervene freely. Conclusions: Several indicators negatively affect the democratic participation of women in the community, which in turn affects political development.
