Currently the world is going through a global health crisis, which disrupts the economy of the countries affected by the pandemic called Covid-19. Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are a sector that is strongly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, since by not generating income periodically, their liquidity is considerably declining. The review of international experiences for the classification of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Latin America indicates a high variability in terms of the number of criteria used (or a combination thereof), the ranges to define the business size and the productive sector in which they operate. The study and analysis of the socioeconomic information that small and medium-sized companies are going through within the Manabí canton will help in favor of the economic reactivation of the Manabí.
