Abstract

This research is aimed at demonstrating the incidence of primary decoding mechanisms in the development of reading comprehension and the application of appropriate and relevant strategies that lead 2nd grade students of Basic General Education to the development of their reading skills. The study was conducted with students of a Basic Education Unit located in District 09D08, Zone 8 of the city of Guayaquil, in which students have problems in understanding the texts they read, in any subject, which makes it difficult your academic progress He used the theory of the Six levels of reading, Zubiría the Socio-constructivism of Lev Vygotsky and the Critical Pedagogy of Paulo Freire. The methodology used was established in a qualitative research approach, with a quasi-experimental design; the target group was 70 second-grade students.
