Emotional competences in families with children who present disability

Abstract

This article explores emotional competences that are currently developed within families with children with disabilities, this from two samples obtained in the Competitive Research Fund project "Importance of the Development of Parental Competencies in the Educational Inclusion Process", being these competences described from different perspectives such as Binding, Protective, Reflective, etc. However, for the project described above were divided as follows: Emotional, Learning, Protection and Metaparentales, the information was collected with the total population of parents of children between 4 and 12 years of age of the MINERVA institutions and a Specialized School, through the positive parenthood scale developed and validated by the Ideas for Children Foundation of Chile in 2015.
