System of playful-verbal activities to stimulate literacy in children aged 3 to 4 years

Introduction: Literacy acquisition in early childhood education depends largely on the development of oral language. Objective: The purpose of this research was to suggest a set of playful verbal activities to promote literacy in children aged three to four. Materials and Methods: A mixed-methods approach was used for the intervention, including a group case study design. Participant observation, interviews, and a checklist were used before and after the process. Results: The findings showed improvements in expressive vocabulary, oral comprehension, and phonological awareness. These results confirm that playful verbal tasks benefit the development of linguistic skills and stimulate motivation to learn. Conclusions: The suggested system is determined to be an effective and reproducible strategy in early childhood education.
