The interdisciplinary in the postgraduate: some theoretical-methodological considerations for their optimization

Introduction: This study focuses on postgraduate education, with the aim of proposing some theoretical and methodological considerations for the optimization of interdisciplinarity at this educational level. Materials and methods: The methods used include historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, systematization, and document review. Results: The result presented has a theoretical and methodological nature; its structural contents are expressed in a theoretical-conceptual plane that deals with epistemological aspects of interdisciplinarity linked to the resolution of complex professional problems, and a methodological plane that includes procedural aspects, oriented towards the educational practice of postgraduate education. Discussion: The conclusions report that interdisciplinarity as a principle of postgraduate education is highly significant for the pedagogical process developed at this level, hence the relevance of contributing to its optimization through an integrative theoretical and methodological positioning. Conclusions: The theoretical and methodological considerations contained in this study recognize interdisciplinarity in graduate education as an educational principle that involves the integration and enrichment of various disciplines for the resolution of complex professional problems, linked to the understanding and transformation of reality in the professional's work activity. This is based on the highly formative processes of constructing and reconstructing scientific culture that occur in graduate education with the collaborative participation of professors, tutors, students, and other professionals who manage the curriculum at this educational level.
