Development of logical thinking in students of a school in Guayaquil from Piaget's theory

Abstract

Introduction: The research is purposeful and aims to improve mathematical learning in students between the ages of 12 and 14 through a pedagogical model based on Piaget's theory.
Materials and methods: It was carried out using complementary techniques and the validation of the instrument.
Results: As a result, it was established that students have difficulty solving problems related to numbering, calculation, understanding of abstract concepts and functions because they need to improve their logical, numerical and spatial reasoning skills.
Discussion: The pedagogical model promoted the development of logical mathematical thinking and contributed to the establishment of the professional teacher profile.
Conclusions: Teachers and students benefited from the innovative proposal.
