Assertive communication based on communicative competence manages to be an integrative function that deserves to be analyzed from the pedagogical sciences. Its rational applicability by teachers, leads to efficient action in obtaining objectives of their domain, in order to develop theories that allow them to be formed from the educational teaching process in current university students. The analysis of the initial diagnosis and the pedagogical practice, as well as the study of different theoretical positions on assertive communication reveal that there are limitations in the initial training of the students of the Agronomic Engineering career of the CUM Frank País in terms of communicative competence. This work is derived from the analysis of the methodological didactic treatment given to communicative competence and assertiveness in the career of Agricultural Engineering. Indicators and measurement criteria are provided by stages that contributed to a feasible study of these categories and their behavior in the teaching-training process of the career.
