A study was carried out at the Technical University of Machala with the purpose of analyzing the importance of the subject "Alternate Methods of Conflict Resolution", in the jurisprudence career. The methodological strategy responds to the quantitative-qualitative paradigm, systematized through the methods: hermeneutic, phenomenological and statistical; through the in-depth interview applied to 5 teachers and 50 students randomly selected, it was determined that there is an adequate development of the teaching-learning process in the fulfillment of the objectives of the assignment, characterized by the exchange of opinions and legal arguments, employment of legislative, doctrinal and jurisprudential sources, and an adequate use of legal terminology; although not without fissures in the use of examples in the educational praxis; these results correspond to the criterion of teachers and students who consider the subject vital for the integral formation of the jurisconsult.
