Human beings need to learn investigative skills from an early age as this favors successful performance, however, this requires effective educational innovations. In this sense, the objective of the study was: to analyze the importance and impact of the experimental activities in the learning of the investigative skills of the students, through a theoretical systematization. It was found that the application of experimental activities constitutes an essential aspect in the learning of investigative skills, for this the teacher must become a scientific leader and mediator of safe learning environments, in turn the experimental activity must consider the training potentialities and pedagogical autonomy of the students, being a space for formative feedback. These activities can become an innovative way of teaching and learning science, in a fun, entertaining, pleasant, interesting, and appropriate way, through student experimentation as the main actor in their learning.
