Introduction: Strategic planning constitutes a fundamental tool for business development, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) facing dynamic and competitive environments. Objective: To analyze the influence of strategic planning on the growth of SMEs in the textile sector in the Chone canton, Manabí province, Ecuador. Methodology: A quantitative approach with a non-experimental cross-sectional design was employed, applying a structured Likert-scale questionnaire to a stratified sample of 147 owners and managers of textile SMEs registered in the municipal registry and the Internal Revenue Service. Results: The findings show that SMEs implementing formal strategic planning processes present higher growth levels (r=0.623; p<0.01), particularly in profitability, market share, and operational sustainability. However, weaknesses were identified in the systematic application of these tools in micro-enterprises (39.6% adoption rate), due to resource and technical capacity limitations. Discussion: The empirical evidence obtained coincides with recent studies highlighting strategic planning as a differentiating factor for SME competitiveness in Latin America. Conclusions: The positive contribution of strategic planning to business growth is confirmed, recommending the strengthening of managerial capacities through programs adapted to the local context.
