Introduction: This paper analyzes a Microsoft Word binary file (.dot) containing a document template with metadata, embedded images, and partially readable text. The analysis focuses on extracting and structuring the information for interpretation. Materials and Methods: The file structure was examined using hexadecimal parsing tools, identifying header sections, data flows, document properties, and embedded objects, such as a PNG image. The text was decoded and filtered to separate metadata from potentially relevant content. Results: Text indicating the use of the "Normal.dotm" template, references to "Microsoft Office Word," and product data was extracted. The embedded image was identified, but the main document content appears to be missing or corrupted, primarily displaying control characters and system data. Discussion: The corruption or partial nature of the file limits the ability to obtain coherent text for a thematic summary. The findings highlight the complex structure of Word files, where template information and metadata can persist even with the loss of the main content. Conclusions: Structural analysis allows us to understand the file's composition, but the substantive content for a traditional academic abstract is not recoverable. The presence of template metadata and embedded objects as standard components of this type of file is confirmed.
