Introduction: This study aims to demonstrate that military students can improve their oral English skills through the use of artificial intelligence. Materials and methods: The research was conducted with the participation of 27 young sailors from the Guayaquil Marine Infantry School of the Ecuadorian Navy. The teacher detected a constant problem in military students when they expressed themselves orally, particularly in their pronunciation, which was often illegible. The study proceeded to explore what could be the best method to help students improve their pronunciation during their independent learning hours without depending on the teacher, resulting in the implementation of artificial intelligence. Two pre-test and post-test evaluations were applied to perform a comparative analysis. The method used for this analysis was a pre-experimental quantitative method. Results: To determine whether the students improved their pronunciation, their oral presentations were graded with a rubric. After comparing the pre-test and post-test, interesting results were obtained. Conclusions: By implementing AI (ChatGpt) to improve speaking skills among military students at the Marine Infantry School, it was demonstrated that even with a free version, students can significantly improve their academic performance in Speaking with appropriate teacher guidance and the use of the correct prompt.
