Application of the Organic Law of Popular and Solidarity Economy: Economic Development of the Union of Artisanal Fishing Cooperatives of the Playas Canton

Abstract

Introduction: The Organic Law of Popular and Solidarity Economy and Economic Development of Ecuador gives its artisans the possibility of resorting to financing to execute investment projects that allow them to develop economically. This study analyzed the relationship between the application of the Law in the Union of Artisanal Fishing Cooperatives of Canton Playas. Although the law has been in force since 2011, it has been identified that, due to the lack of knowledge of the law, few artisan cooperatives have resorted to it, in addition to the existence of inconveniences related to the management of information and financial activity carried out by informal people who participate as active partners. The objective is to establish the relationship between the law and the union of fishing cooperatives so that through a diagnosis, the main aspects and benefits for the integration of fishermen can be identified. Materials and methods: The materials and methods used present a qualitative and quantitative approach, the methods used in the research are descriptive and phenomenological. Results: The results found will allow us to know the interest of formal and informal fishermen in integrating into a single cooperative team to achieve greater benefits and contribute to the development of the family. Discussion: It is discussed that the formality of a cooperative integrated by all fishermen so that the benefits perceived are trust and productivity in the sustained development of the canton. Conclusions: Training is required in issues of quality, services and importance of participation in cooperatives.
