Abstract

Introduction: The computerization of Cuban society is a developing process that plans to automate management tasks of companies and institutions, in addition to bringing society closer to the efficient use of information technologies in everyday life. At the Universidad de Oriente some steps forward have been taken as part of this computerization. Human Resources management in terms of controlling the actions carried out by workers is extremely important, which is why the labor file represents the primary link within this process. This work describes the automatic solution given to the management of the Human Resources process focused on the development of an information management system that is collected in the Labor Records, which allows workers to update the data in their labor records. via online. Materials and methods: The system was developed using Odoo, which is an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. This has a free open source version under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPLv3) and an enterprise version under a commercial license that complements the community edition with commercial features and services and developed by the Belgian company Odoo S.A. Results: The system manages labor files, flow control, notifications and reports; It has multiplatform capacity with support for open source and free software technologies and the ability to integrate with institutional information management systems. It allows resolving the inconsistency of information that exists in the worker data stored in the ASSETS and provides real-time data for decision making in the management of human capital at the UO through a reporting system. Discussion:The digitalization of human resources will be beneficial for all universities and its entire future depends largely on the proper functioning of this department, which is an important area of management and organization. In addition, it saves time, divides work, reduces human errors and saves the entity money. Conclusions: The system has made it possible to gain objectivity, quality, and immediacy given that it not only contains information regarding the employment relationship of the workers, which is essential for the management of the human capital of the UO, but also contributes to increasing the protection of the large volume of information that it manages and guarantees that the data managed through the platform enables more complete, systematic and timely analyzes of the institutional reality. Regardless of the fact that it is developed in the image and likeness of the UO, due to its characteristics and functionalities, it is perfectly applicable in the future, in other HEIs.
