Abstract

The research presented aims to evaluate the efficacy of the use of composite resin and glass ionomer for the direct restorative treatment of molars affected with molar incisor hypomineralization. For this, a cross-sectional descriptive and documentary research was carried out, using articles essentially obtained from the Pubmed and SciELo databases. The literature review ran from 2014 to 2020. The study was limited to studies published in Spanish, English and Portuguese. From the research carried out, 117 references were obtained, 21 articles were included in the review. Different treatment alternatives were found in which composite resin and glass ionomer were an adequate option for the treatment of teeth with hypomineralization of the molar incisor. Some previously identified therapies can help improve treatment results. The composite resin and the glass ionomer showed good restorative efficacy for molars with hypomineralization of the molar incisor.
