Abstract

This article is about using  inscriptions in the Latin classroom, for this purpose, the considerations that motivate its inclusion in the classes of latin IV, optional of the 2nd year of the career of Letters, are exposed. Also presenting the guidelines and activities aimed at this use, designed in such a way that they bring the student closer to the work of ephigraphist. For this purpose, a selection of sites is made where  its find, on site, Latin inscriptions in Santiago of Cuba city. In this sense, the inscription is valued as a teaching instrument that allows contact with original texts. Students will not only analyze issues of a morphological and syntactic nature for a better knowledge of the Latin language but will approach this very old practice wich, in this particular case, dates from the XVI and XVII centuries santiagueros
