Abstract

The present work has the fundamental purpose of addressing essential elements of communicative competence in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language (SFL). The Journal of Campaign by Jose Marti is based on the importance that the literary text takes as a tool for the development of communicative and sociocultural competence at the same time. In this way the literary text becomes the ideal vehicle to develop in students different levels of linguistic and aesthetic appreciation. The analysis of the teaching process-learning from a communicative and sociocultural perspective allows the student to adapt to different contexts and thus recognize cultural presuppositions and understandings.
