Abstract

Introduction: The objective of this research was to identify how social inequality psychologically affects students with different special disabilities at the Angélica Flores Zambrano Special Education Unit, in the city of Manta, period 2022-2023. Materials and methods: The type of explanatory - exploratory study with qualitative and quantitative approaches and the logical - scientific Inductive, deductive, bibliographic and documentary methods were fundamental in the development of this research. At an empirical level, an interview was used with three professionals who work in the Department of Student Counseling and a survey applied to 25 teachers from the Education Unit, who represent 100% of the selected sample, who provided pertinent, you will see and, above all, important information. for carrying out the research. Results: The results showed that social inequality has always been present in the lives of people with different special disabilities, the different types of social inequality suffered by people in the Angélica Flores Zambrano Special Education Unit and the care they provide were identified. teachers to students who have depressive and anxiety disorders that affect school performance and their integration into society. Discussion: The theoretical postulates demonstrate that social inequality is one of the problems that has affected people with disabilities at the global, national and local level, having a significant impact on the development of work, social and educational activities. Conclusions: The Student Counseling Department of the Angélica Flores Zambrano Education Unit provides timely attention to students who present inequality and psychological affectation to students who present depressive and anxiety disorders that affect school performance and their integration into society.
