Abstract

This study aims to determine the effective pulp regeneration material between MTA and Biodentine, in direct pulp capping of permanent teeth. To this end, a review of the literature was carried out between 2015 and 2021. The study is of a retrospective descriptive scope and a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The approach is qualitative, where a PICO strategy was used. For this, in vitro and in vivo experimental articles, clinical trials, and literature reviews were considered. The results obtained allowed us to conclude that Biodentine and MTA, as biocompatible and bioinductive material in direct pulp capping, has excellent success. However, MTA induces a minor inflammatory response and causes coronal discoloration, being enhanced by NaOCl. In addition, Biodentine forms faster, wider mineralized tissue and does not cause coronal discoloration.
