The article presents a diagnosis of the current situation of the implementation of the Legal and Civic Training Courses at the Universidad de Oriente, and a proposal of the content to be inserted in the analytical program of these courses, to respond to cognitive needs of the different careers. Methods at the theoretical level such as analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, historical-logical, and systemic-structural were used; empirical level methods such as participant observation and content analysis; and research techniques such as bibliographic review, and interviewing experts. All with the aim of designing the content of the analytical program of the Legal and Civic Training Courses, so that students acquire both general legal knowledge and knowledge related to their professional profile.
