Educational workshops on teenage pregnancy in Brazil

A community intervention study was conducted with adolescents from the Family Health Post, Unit "Jairo Silva", Contenda do Sincora, Salvador Bahia State, Brazil, in the period from october 2015 to september 2016, with the objective of evaluating the knowledge of adolescents about aspects related to pregnancy in this stage of life. The universe was composed by 20 adolescents who met the inclusion criteria, who were given different educational workshops with a duration of 16 hours, in 2 months, evaluating their knowledge before and after being taught. The information obtained was processed in a computerized way using the statistical package SPSS-11.5.1, using the percent as a summary measure. There was a gradual increase in knowledge about pregnancy in the adolescents participating in the study, evaluating them at the end of the intervention as adequate.
