The social representation of aging in Caribbean subjects living in the city of Santiago de Cuba

This investigation examines the concept of social representation, analyzing its expressions about the aging process in subject of Caribbean origin in which so much residents of the city of Santiago from Cuba are included like of students coming from other countries of the Caribbean. Differences and similarities are looked for in the sense common of the same ones and on this base some considerations settle down regarding the expression of the Caribbean thought in the aspect studied as one of the foundations of the call organic thought what excludes the scientific valuations on the matter. One argues that the bases of this social representation are to look for them in the socialization process that has in the family one of their main agents and in the social lists that the old men carry out for the formation of their appreciation about the aging.
