Francisco Prat Puig: His pedagogical praxis at the Universidad de Oriente

Abstract

Doctor Francisco Prat Puig was one of the spanish intellectualist who sheltered in the Island of Cuba after the falling down of the Spanish Republic and in 1948 was part of the staff of professors of the recently founded Universidad de Oriente. He developed a teaching process which was centered on instruction through education and which followed the transmission and formation of values departing from his personal behavior and attitude. This took peace until his death in may, 1997. These aspect constitute one of the mastery strategies of the High Level Education Ministry of Cuba. The fact that most of his educational performance was done by the time when these aspect were not deeply applied, gives his pedagogical praxis a precursory character.
