Abstract

Introduction: This study analyzes the importance of human resource management at Namibe University, highlighting its role in promoting sustainable institutional development. Materials and methods: This research examines how human resource management practices directly influence academic and administrative performance, addressing aspects such as recruitment, training, talent retention, motivation, and adaptation to new technological and institutional demands. Furthermore, the study highlights the need for effective policies for the valorization of university professionals, ensuring a collaborative work environment conducive to innovation. Results: The implementation of sustainable strategies in human resource management is essential to strengthen organizational culture, promote equity, and improve the quality of services provided to the academic community. Discussion: The balance between employee well-being and administrative efficiency also presents itself as an essential challenge for university management. Another relevant point is the importance of continuing education and professional development as strategic factors to boost the quality of teaching and research. Conclusions: The adoption of technologies in people management and the creation of programs that foster engagement and productivity contribute to a more dynamic and efficient academic environment.
