Impact of the digitization of administrative processes on the efficiency of institutional management and organizational change in the Ministry of Labor of Ecuador
Abstract
Introduction: The Entrepreneurship and Management course in high school is key to developing skills such as creativity, leadership, and innovation, but students often struggle with understanding concepts and using technological tools. Materials and methods: A mixed-methods (qualitative-quantitative) descriptive approach was used with a purposive sample of 30 third-year high school students from the Luis Alfredo Noboa Icaza Educational Unit (Ecuador). Classroom observation, surveys, interviews, and document review were conducted, all validated by expert opinion. Results: The diagnostic assessment revealed limited integration of digital resources (70% of students had difficulties), poor mastery of tools (80% required training), lack of motivation (60% showed passivity), and a need for teacher training (80% reported deficiencies). Ten practical activities were designed using Canva (logo design, infographics, interactive presentations, posters, digital portfolios, business plans, pitch decks, among others). The specialists validated the proposal as relevant, feasible, and innovative. Discussion: The results align with previous studies that highlight Canva as an effective tool for strengthening digital skills, creativity, and visual communication in entrepreneurship, as well as for facilitating project-based learning. Conclusions: Canva contributes significantly to learning about Entrepreneurship and Management, provided that training programs are implemented for students and teachers, overcoming the identified barriers of lack of knowledge and demotivation.
