Incidence of technology in the loss of traditional games

Abstract

In the research we have been able to identify the problem of the loss of the practice of traditional games in the fifth- and sixth year of Basic Education School "Rivers Province". Games that are considered as the set of values, agility, skills, movement, strength and modes of behavior that work as an important element in motor development and social field; in the schoolyards a wealth of popular games is generated, which constitute a real treasure children and youth. The aim of the paper is to socialize our reflections about the importance and need to conserve traditional children's games, as these are a fundamental pillar in the identity of Ecuadorian culture. For the elaboration of the report a coincident methodological strategy which included: digital bibliographical, documental revision, participant observation, surveys and empiric methods. As a result, the authors offer a theoretical systematizing that could serve as foundation for the reflection, motivation and setting in practice of actions that they guarantee what we have enunciated in our objective.
