Influence of reading comprehension in the formation of critical thinking

Abstract

This study is focused on an analysis of the scientific literature on reading comprehension skills and their influence on the development of critical thinking. The method of documentary review and synthesis analysis was used, following the stages of approach, mapping and synthesis. As results, contributions published in internationally indexed journals that allow establishing a favorable trend behavior of reading comprehension in critical thinking are rescued. In conclusion, the study presents a referential framework that supports the need to apply a systemic and comprehensive reading comprehension strategy to positively impact students' critical thinking.
