Information and Communication Technologies in the teaching of General Chemistry in the Industrial Engineering career

Abstract

The integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the teaching of Chemistry is a trend that is becoming increasingly popular in Cuban universities. The following work is intended to show the results of the educational experience that was carried out in the General Chemistry discipline for Industrial Engineering students first year during the 2018-2019 academic year, through the use of ICT for didactic purposes. Two of the three subgroups of practical classes were selected, with a total of 55 students, which formed teams for the development of seminars and practical of laboratory and a third group of 23 students like control. From the experience carried out, it was observed that the students who participated felt motivated by the discipline and the phenomena studied in it, leading them to achieve superior academic results compared to the students who did not participate in the educational experience.
