Professionalization of the teaching of Chemistry for Bachelor in Civil Construction

Abstract

At the University of Holguin the teaching of Chemistry in the first year of the career of Bachelor's degree in Education in the specialty Construction presents difficulties, due to the low motivation of the students for the subject, since they do not attribute all the importance it requires to their profession, which negatively affects their preparation. The present research shows a set of professionalized teaching activities proposed for students of this career with the purpose of awakening the interest of students in the learning of Chemistry, in addition to linking them to the rudiments of scientific research. These activities have been developed during two academic courses, having great acceptance by the students, evidencing the increased interest in the subject, the development of the critical capacity, discussion and defense of knowledge, the interdisciplinary link with topics of their profession and with the environmental curriculum strategy.
